I've never tried this before today, but here's a walkthrough for new users (and visual learners) that might be helpful.

1. Set up your email-to-post option in your Mobile Post Settings. Enter your PIN and everything, then click Save.

Note: I recommend selecting the option to have DW's Email Posting Instructions emailed to you. This will tell you how to make a post. (See below.)

2. Go to your email client. I'm using my Gmail in this example. Begin writing your email/post. This is what mine looked like:

Note: When inserting your own image, upload it to your preferred image hosting site (Imgur, Flickr, etc) and copy the URL, then paste between the quotations, like what you see in my code above. (That p align="center" is just me centering the image and has nothing to do with the actual image itself, just FYI.) Most sites will give you an auto-generated HTML code to insert it into a webpage, so you don't have to worry about messing with this.

3. Check for mistakes, then click Send. Your post should show up on your journal in a few seconds. Here is how mine looked (this was my second attempt, hence the altered title):

This is all fairly straightforward, but even I ran into some problems. Here's how I handled them:

Smart quotes (or curly quotes) have problems translating in HTML.

A lot of email clients and mobile operating systems automatically translate straight quotes into curly quotes. I ran into this issue the first time I tried to post (you can click the image for a closer view):

I had to access the secondary/numbers keyboard on iOS to find the straight quotes (see below).

Click on the double quotes key and hold it, then you'll see the option to select the straight double quotes. This is what you need in order to post working HTML. Always check to make sure your quotes are straight before emailing to your journal, even if you copy and paste the code from another site. Your email program may automatically turn them into curly quotes.

I noticed that word wrapping didn't translate into my post.

Meaning that where a line ended in my email is where it ends in my post.

This might just be my experience with Gmail or maybe I accidentally broke the sentence up myself, but it's something to bear in mind if you're posting a lot of text and paragraphs.

... that's it, basically. I imagine this gets a lot easier with repeated use. (I'm a dinosaur; I use my PC for practically everything, but I'm glad to know I can make a post via mobile if I have to.)

If you've got any questions or comments, leave 'em here and I'll do my best to help!
